Title: printing list of albums per genre

I came across this in the forum:

In the action window choose file properties/statistics/Artist-Album. Right click in the statistics window or click on the drop down arrow (top left of stats window) and choose print. This prints a list in the form 'Artist - Album'

Thats fine but i want to print my artist-albums per genre, is there a way to do this in media center?

I was thinking possiably some kind of a smart list or can one introduce new fields in the statistics part of the action window and simply just say print that?

I am still not very good at smartlists and such, if someone could help me i would appreciate it greatly.

I do that with the plug-in XML Export. You should find it on the plug-in page. I have a setting called "Mastiff Album Listing" that prints all albums from genre, compilations as a genre itself, with an album ID number I set to call playlists from remote controls.

Hey mastiff i believe you caught my signature, good one, here is the story behind it.

Warren Zevon who was dying of lung cancer went on David Letterman and sang one of the last songs that he ever sang, afterwards Dave asked him if he any words of wisdom for anybody that was watching and all he said was that "One should enjoy every sandwich" meaning it might be your last one, so live life to the fullest.

I am trying the xml export plugin, it starts up and then hangs media center. I noticed it is version 1.01 and says it is for media center 9, is it fully compatiable with media center 11 or is there a newer version somewhere that i am missing?

Well it's always taken an extremely long time to start, that's why it should be stopped upon starting MC by default, but I'm not sure on the compatability.

It takes around 15 minutes to start on my library, with around 60 000 tracks, so if you only waited for a minute or two and thought it was hung, it probably wasn't. And it should be3 compatible with MC11.
