Title: MC11 Quick Expression question...
Post by: EpF on May 27, 2005, 06:45:07 am
I have this column in a view scheme (which is restricted to files imported in the last 7 days):

FormatDate([date imported], dddd dd)&DataType=[...]

I've tried everything in that red part, but nothing will sort the column by date.  On the expressions help page, it says that [month] will sort by chronological month, but if I put in [day], it sorts by alphabetical day.

I presume I'm going to have to live with/workaround this, at least for the moment, but I thought I'd check to see if there's a built-in solution...?

Thought I'd give this one bump...  Any takers?

Currently there's no ordered sort for day names as strings.  Remind us later and we'll add it to 11.1.

I think I am the only one who has previously mentioned 11.1 instead of 12.0. In my opinion it would be a good idea.

JRiver should release v. 11.0 at this very moment and launch their PR campaign. 11.1 could be released a few months later and it could include some finishing touches to the new things introduced in MC11. The developers could focus on perfecting MC11 instead of making major changes like the new database or servers in MC11.

The second PR campaign for MC 11.1 could be launched in the early fall or so. Developing MC11 took a year and JRiver deserves all the publicity it will get from the new product launches.

After that they could continue with the next major version.

Just my two pennies worth...

More pennies from me on this one.  The program has its quirks, but who of us doesn't?  I say you get it out there and start banging the gong.  Also phone Napster up, if you haven't already.
