Hello.
Hi, is there away to make the playing now window top part to stay visible, so even if you click on another artist the songs will appear on the bottom part of the playing now screen, so you can still see the effects you’re using at the moment, like cover art etc…
thnx
Oscar F.

Not really sure I understand.,... YOu want to display Playing Now and view your library.... If this is the case, View and Split panes.
Play around and you should be able to config it the way you want.
-
*if it can still be done perhaps someone can point out why I can't find it.
Action Window > Build Playlist > Edit Playing Now
(You cannot access it from Action Window > File Properties > Edit Playlists.)

Another option is split view under View > Split View.
-
Split View is a way to do it. Another way is to use the display in windowed mode like here:

Click to see the full size image. (http://kotisivu.mtv3.fi/alexb/pix/displays.gif)

Alex, how did you accomplish that picture? When I go to windowed view, there is only one window. How do you create a second window?
Thanks

I am sorry to disappoint you, but there's only one display window. More is not possible. I am using geekbeats2's "Thunderstrom" track info template. As the name implies it goes well with the Thunderstorm skin.

? Was that picture photoshoped then?
Is it possible to actually do what you are showing in that picture?

No, it's not a Photoshop trick. I am not sure what you are asking. The top window is just the normal MC display in the floating Windowed view. The bottom one is MC itself. I have adjusted the window sizes and posititions.

Perhaps datdude is experiencing something that I too thought odd. In previous versions of MC (10, 9, etc.) I was able to put MC in windowed mode (like you show in your picture), but with MC 11 I can only display the the windowed part of the display. When I click on the button to go into windowed mode, the window detaches from the main MC UI, and the main UI minimizes to the task bar. In previous versions of MC, if I clicked on the minimized MC, it would reappear and I would be able to have both parts on screen at the same time. The only way I can have both parts on screen now is if I "close" the detached window and MC reappears with the window back in its home location.
This has been happening for the entire time I've been using MC11 (100 builds or so now), so I thought it was an unfortunate feature of the new MC. But it appears it may be more of a bug if not everyone is experiencing this.

Hey Alex,
unless you give us detailed explanation on how you get the display shown, I must assume that this is a version 10 display. You could do that in version 10 and early versions of 11, but at some point this feature disappeared or has changed in a way never to be found again on how to do it. I liked that way to display too, especially on a big screen.
Maybe J River can give further explanation!

It is MC11. I have had no problems with it, but I think I found the reason. Lisa's reply gave me a hint.
I have the same as Wile E. One . . . cannot have both open as was previously possible . . . .
While in windowed mode if I click on the tray icon and select 'Show MC', nothing happens.
I have not used the Minimize to System Tray option. I can reproduce the problem if the option is enabled.
-
Woaah, that tiny option was the culprit! I missed that soo much!
Hey J River! Is this a bug or by design?

Wow you guys are infinitely better at extracting data out of Aex then I am. I think we need to hook up a bus system to his brain so us MC users can bypass the human element in Alex and ask away. We would need some sort of interface for that. Hey JRiver, can you help us out with this? ;D

BINGO!
Please JRiver... could this be fixed/changed back to the way it was? Thanks.
