Hi!
I've found some stuff that I'd like some input on.
- Staggering sound when starting Remote Desktop
- Analyze audio cpu load
- Album Gain questions
- Incorrect view with Library browser
Staggering sound when starting Remote Desktop
This was introduced not very long ago, perhaps in 11.265 or similar. Before, MC played along as usual whenever you started Remote Desktop from lets say your laptop to control MC from another room. But recently, the audio staggers for about a 2, 3 seconds until the RD screen has loaded and logged in.
Analyze audio cpu load
A while ago I got the idea that I should dump MP3Gain in favour of MC, so I started using Analyze Audio on my imported files. But the priority is so high on this process that it's nearly impossible to do anything else with the computer. Any ideas/future improvement?
Album Gain questions
I understand the Album Gain process is handled differently between MC and MP3Gain. MC does a track gain and calculates the album gain on the fly meanwhile MP3Gain sets an album tag (correct me if I'm wrong!). What happens if you burn an album with another program like Nero? Wouldn't the album gain set by MC be wrong then because Nero doesn't calculate Album Gain by itself? Am I now forced to use MC's burning module to get a correct leveling of my songs?
Incorrect view with Library browser
If I go to Library Browser, select Albums, and where it says View:Audio I select sort by Date Imported, the list is wrong. Albums imported years ago are among the newly imported albums.
Thanks!

Have to agree with you about the CPU rate when analyzing an album. My PC slows right down and has even been known to crash after analyzing about 30 tracks. I'm sure that analyzing never used to cause this much of a drain.

I also agree on the cpu usage when analyzing. I used to be able to at least play music while MC was processing, but now I have to stop everything else as the music now stutters while MC is calculating. I have watched the cpu load at generally 85-95%. (with G-Force off & no other plugins active)

There are many reasons for crashes. Please take a look at crash problems in this thread:

Depending On What Visual You Have Playing In Playing Now The CPU rate Will Change
If you leave MC in "Media Library" Or If you take the Visual Window And Pull It All The Way Up The CPU Rate Will Go Down.
This may also depend on what type of computer, video board you have and how fast it is.
Video Boards Using Shared Memory May Have A Higher CPU Rate.
When I Play, My CPU Is At 4%

Playing is never a problem...except for the Remote Desktop issue (btw using DirectSound 0.20s buffert) and I'm not using any visuals.. But when analyzing, I'm not sure I'd want to play any songs, it's heavy as it is...

cpu usage for during normal playback (no plugins engaged) is about 2-4%. It's only when I try to analyze at the same time that the music signal becomes corrupted (cpu will peg out at 100%). This didn't used to happen in v 9.x & 10.
