Title: Orban AAC Plus Format
Post by: Snuffy2 on June 04, 2005, 03:03:20 pm
I've been listening to some internet radio recently & found a station I love: http://www.radiofreecolorado.net/

Anyway, in addition to its 128kbps Stream it broadcasts a 64kbps Orban AAC Plus that it claims is equal in quality to a 128kbps MP3 stream at 1/2 the bandwidth.

I've never heard of AAC Plus format and from my limited experimenting, MC11 wasn't able to play the AAC Plus stream.

So 2 questions:
1. Is there a way to get AAC Plus to play in MC?
2. Is AAC Plus that good of a codec that it can actually be said that a 64kpbs AAC Plus is equal or better than a 128kpbs MP3?

Thanx
Justin

I don't think MC supports AAC streaming.  Apple's QuickTime player may.
