Title: How to enable track repeat, for a single track only
Post by: NumberEleventeen on June 13, 2005, 07:18:21 am
How can i make it so media center 11 plays a single track only, and loops it? I want the whole cd in the playlist so i can hit next/back to switch tracks, but have it repeat until i do so.

You can't at the moment.

You can put a single track in playingnow and then select "continuous play" (button up near the top of the screen). MC will continuously play whatever is in playingnow.

I think the poster was infering that the entire album is in the playing now and not just a single song.  Im not sure how this could be done without adding another MC option and futher complicating MC.

I should have qualified my statement as, "this is the only repeat option in MC now".

I don't think it would complicate MC that much.  Many players have 'repeat modes' e.g. Song,Album,All.  The same is true for shuffle, which would certainly be most useful.

Because we don't have that option now, I would make a playlist named "Alt Playing Now", and send the files there instead of Playing Now. I would play single tracks from that playlist.

In case the MC display is needed I would use Windowed Mode or Split View or I could handle the "Alt Playing Now" list in the Action Window.

iPod for example.

I forgot about that.  Unfortunately the Ipod doesn't have a true playlist and the repeat function is buried in the menu system.  MC could actually do this pretty easily.  Just add a third option to the 'continuous' button.

That would be pretty cool.
