Just downloaded and purchased jukebox 8. Am trying to get the music server to work, with no joy.
The server is on a win2k server sp2. i can connect to it locally (on the same machine) but when i try and connect to it on my XP workstation also running ver 8.0 it wont connect to the server.
Read the help pages serveral times and that doesnt make it any clearer.
Please can you help?

What's the configuration of your home network (I'm assuming both machines are at your home, right?)

Home network - win2k (SP2) server running the music server. (172.16.23.100:8888)
xp pro workstations trying to connect. (172.16.23.101, 172.16.23.150)
xp machines have the xp firewall turned OFF
The rest of the network works fine.

Try some tests:
open a DOS window on the XP machines and
ping 172.16.23.100
and then:
telnet 172.16.23.100:8888
And finally, enter the following URL into a browser on the XP machine:
http://172.16.23.100:888/
Let me know the results...

This has a small typo. Of course it should be: http://172.16.23.100:8888

ping test to 172.16.23.100 no probs, <1ms on all for packets
telnet test, connects but nothing displayed.
http test, gives me "You are not using a standard Music01 protocol to access this server."

How are you connecting to the server inside MJ8?
It looks like the server is working fine, the problem seems to be in connecting...
