Title: Topic Split Enhancement
Post by: Dutch Peter on June 23, 2005, 01:17:52 am
In several threads topics are split, which is fine.
If you have a notification active you will receive an e-mail lke this:

"A topic you are watching has been split into two or more topics by JimH.

Is it possible to insert the link of the new thread which is the result of the split.

That would help very much!!

Could someone enlighten me...what does the split function mean? I saw it a while ago and didn't have a clue on what it's supposed to do :(

If a post is posted in the wrong thread (in the eyes of the forum administrators), they can split the topic. Basically this means that this post will be transferred to a new thread.
Then an automatic message is generated which holds the info as in the first post of this thread. So no link to the new thread.

I hope this makes it clear.

The forum software was written by Simple Machines.  We're not going to change it.

Some things you can change and some things you have to learn to live with.
