It is updating the ratings however. Im not sure when this started happening. I just started to notice that some songs on certain smartlists were not being removed based upon the last played rule. I have checked and none of the songs I have played in a while have been updated from the Ipod. Very Strange.
If anyone has any trouble shooting ideas, I woudl appreciate it. Thanks

Something else I noticed is that some songs have a last played equaling 5.5 years, and I know that isn't true since I've only had MC for a little over a year. All of these songs with this issue were recently played on the Ipod. However there are still many songs with normal last played numbers that just aren't being updated after playing on the Ipod.

datdude,
Check the date and time you have set on the iPod. Is it correct?

The date was set at January 2000. So I reset it and it seems to be updating correctly. I guess my ipod got reset to some weird time. I know that it seems to crash alot and reset all the settings quite frequently. Don't know why that happens though. Interesting that not all files I had played on Ipod were set at the wrong date.
Ill keep you updated if there are still issues.
Thanks Steve

datdude,
FYI, when you play a song on iPod, iPod records the time played. When MC connects to the iPod it compares this date to the last sync time and then updates accordingly. One possibility for why some files had the wrong date would be that you played some when the date was correctly set and others when the date was wrong. This could account for what you describe.

Makes sense.
