Title: 'Comment' field in ID tag: How to do in 'batch'?
Post by: Moe_Howard on October 08, 2002, 12:48:57 pm
Hello all.  Am using MJ ver. 8.0.382.  I was just wondering if there is a way to add the same remark to the "comment" field in MP3 tags.  That is, I have say 500 MP3's that I want to add exactly the same remark in the "comment" field under "Properties."   Yeah, I can do this one at a time, but is there a way to do it batch style?

I suspect there is not, but maybe someone can enlighten me as to how to do it either via this program or some other 3rd party app.  TIA!!

Regards,

Moe

I haven't done any batch updates and so am unfamiliar with it. Simply inserting --tc "EAC: Lame 3.92 @ alt pre std" (for example) into your command line should work since all the other tags (ie Artist, Title....) are dynamically edited on a song by song basis. I assume your using an external encoder (LAME).

Xenno

edit> Didn't read your post thoroughly enough. Your using MJ, songs are already encoded. You could make the 'show' the "Comment" field in Media Library and do a copy and paste. But I'm sure there's something around that will do efficient batch tagging & editing.

you can do it two ways

1. Mark The Files
2. Right Click
3. Select Properties
4. Change Comment Tag
5. Save

Or

1. Mark Files
2. Right Click On The Comment Field
3. Select Rename
4. Change Comment Tag
5. When You Move Off Or Hit Enter It Will Save

MJ9 Works Another Way.
