Title: MC11 does not recognise IRiver iHP 140 as Handheld
Post by: bbrip on July 10, 2005, 05:46:25 pm
The Player gets recognised on "myComputer" as a drive, but I cannot get this to show up as a hendheld for direct synchronisation.

Am I doing something wrong or is this not supported?

Thanks

Exactly how does your 140 appear in the MC tree?

If as H-140 or iHP-140, it should be autodetected. If as something else, please post it for me and I can make it autodetectable. In the meantime, go to Tools->Options->Handheld->Configure remote and fixed drives and browse to your iHP-140, name it and then you wil see it.

Did MC detect the device when you first connected it?

bbrip,

Depending on the version of firmware the iHP-140 will show as a H100 or different. iRiver changed the name of the device several firmware versions ago.

Just configure the drive as a handheld and you are set to go. I have a iHP-140 myself and it didn't worked 15 months ago. Steve changed a few things and it was indeed recognized. After the firmware change the device appeared different. MC failed to recognize.

After configuration it works okay   :)

Ok, got this configured now and it is recognised.

But: Where is the option that it should take the same filepath structure as the source when converting files to my handheld. It now puts it into root directory and seems to loose path and tag infos.

Strange...

bbrip,

If you want MC to create a folder structure based on tags, right click on the device in the MC tree and use the 'Configure Folder Options' option.

B,

Check my response in the other thread. Please post exactly how the device appears in the MC tree and also try going to Tools->Options->Handheld->Configure remote and fixed drives and detect your device there. You should then be able to see the option for folders that I mentioned.
