Title: Alternate Playback Settings???
Post by: jimpmc on July 11, 2005, 06:50:23 pm
Just started playing around with the alternate playback settings.  In the options, I have the main one set for cross-fade, and the alternate set to gapped 3 seconds.

However, I cannot get the alternate one to ever work.  It always seems to use the main one.  I try hitting Alt and then clicking Next or double clicking on a song.  I also tried using Alt + 1 as the help file indicates, but that didn't seem to do anything either.   Using 11.0.305.  I have tried stopping and starting playback, as well as quitting and restarting Media Center.

Am I going about this the wrong way or is there an issue with the functionality?

Not sitting in front of my MC computer, I'll try to help you anyway:
Right click on one of the three buttons (equalizer, shuffle and another one) and you get a menu. In this menu, you have the Alternate setting, that one should work.

Thanks...that worked.  It's also listed as Alt-M on the right-click menu.

The help file should be updated to reflect the current procedure.

Yes, I believe the help file should be updated with more than that...the documentation is  minimal at best...

I have little faith in programmers document, but if a hotkey changes, at least change the hot-key table.

Thought there was a bug, mix-up in Alt-1 being two different commands and edited the .xml file  for hotkeys, but then found the alt-m being mentioned on this forum, phew!
