Title: Can't play my own DVD in MC11
Post by: matshif on July 13, 2005, 12:53:09 am
I have a harddrive DVD recorder, Pioneer DVR-520H.

I made a DVD (it's DVD-R) and finalized it I but I can't play it in MC11.

Works with WinDVD 4.

What can I do?

Mats

Hi Matshif

Wild shot

What decoder are you using?

Start/run/dvdupgrd /detect

Do you have Media Portal on your sys. ?

If so, their decoder takes pirority, even if you load another one.

And it doesnt like MC or Wmp.

Home Dvds and ect, will not run in MC and will give you DRM prob. on WMP.

But, it will work with software designed to work with their own decoder.

Dont know if this helps, but

Good Luck

Hi Griff
Start run gives me this:

DShow SW:
Name: "IviVideo_Hauppauge.ax"
Company Name: "Intervideo.Inc"
Ver: 4.5.28.92

"Do you have Media Portal on your sys."? I don,t know :P

Thanks for your assistance

Mats

Hi Matshif

That is Windvd. (but maybe an inhouse vers)

Maybe try updating to 7

or try a diff. DVD decoder.

Dont know if it will work, but it should play with MC

OK

Do you have any friends close by, where you can use their stand alone dvd player. (not computer)

Try all 3 DVDs their and see what happens

I tried today my DVD on a friends player and they played.

What's more interesting though is that they also play on my computer ;D ;D
