Title: Why do you have to be admin to detect iPod?

MC11 won't detect my iPod unless I am logged in as admin.  Every other program that I have that works with the iPod detects it properly regardless of user account privileges  I know the 'work around' is to set it up manually, but that assumes that the iPod will always be the same drive letter when plugged in.  Poor assumption given that I also use card readers and other external HDD's that are not consistently connected/disconnected at the same time I need to connect the iPod.  Are there any plans to fix this?

Yes. This can and will  be improved/resolved.
