Title: Matshita UJDA745 DVD/CD doesn't recognize any DVD Media

Sorry but I'm a N00B and Idon't know what to do, the facts are the following:
I've got a Matshita UJDA745 DVD/CD optical drive and it does't recognize any kind of DVD backup media including the genuine ones. The unvelievable fact is that the drive can play or even record any CD-R media including CD-RW. I've Installed up to date Firmware form the sony drivers download area but doesn't resolve any problem.

 Hi,

I have the same problem with the UJDA745 in my Sony PCG-V505BX.
Please advise if you find a fix. Sony is no help with this problem.
