Title: How to start server for Dlink dsm320?
Post by: fredpb on July 29, 2005, 05:54:20 pm
I have downloaded the trial of MS11.

I try follow instructions in web, forums, and Help.  There are no options to use as instructed.

How do I get the server to run dsm320 running?????

The UPnP server is under plug-ins in the tree on the left.  That's where you configure it and start it.  There is a thread on UPnP here that will point you to more info if you need it.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I see the plug in, and "Start", but can't find any configuration options, and the DSM320 does not see any server?

Help?

Options are in the same place as the start button.  You'll need to select that device.

Please look for the instructions you'll find in the UPnP thread.

I have studied the thread.  My MS seems to be different.  I start the server under ADVANCED.  Under Plugin Manager it just says stop and start upnp server.  No options.

That's not the right place.  You're in the Plug-in Manager.

You need to find it in the tree on the left side of the main window.  Click on the + symbol.

Doh.  Got the server running, and the DSM320 sees it.  But I can't play music.  I choose a song and it goes to "play status" (timer and label), but does not play.

I use WIN98SE if that makes a difference.

In the options page, try selecting the DSM-320.

Thank you for your help and patience.

Seems to work fine.  Wish it had video!

It is nice that you can still find stable quality software for WIN98SE!
