Title: Tivo Recordings
Post by: nigebj on July 29, 2005, 09:42:54 pm
Didn't see an 'offical' response about this.

Tivo recordings can be played on thye PC provided the client application support DirectShow (so I am told) - thus Nero, and other applications have no direct support for .tivo files but are able to transcode them as the Codec is loaded by the Tivo Desktop software.

So, is MC11 able to support Directshow codecs - if so, how do we convince it to do so ?  Being able to replay recordings moved FROM the Tivo using T2G is a constant request in that world.  Engineering MC11 to support it would definitely drive sales in that market and there are quite a few Tivo users these days :)

Any thoughts from J River ?
I understand Media Center IS based around Directshow - so this sounds like it should fairly easy ?
Currently when I select a .tivo file, Media Center grabs the first audio track in the last playlist played (or possibly the first playlist).
