Title: Synching iPod with MC does not recognize renaming of Albums

maybe this is impossible but i notice that if I rename an album (also the files are exactly the same, iPod does not recognise this and puts the "new" (renamed) Album alongside the album with the old name.

Is this a bug or a feature?

Do you have "Delete unselected files during synchronization" checked in the transfer options?  This should then delete the old named album and put the newly named one on.
