Title: Take Library on Laptop
Post by: jimpmc on August 12, 2005, 03:08:26 pm
I'm a long-time user, but never tried taking the library on a different computer.  Basically, I have been organizing images for a family album using Media Center.  Is it possible to take the library/thumbnails on a laptop computer without taking all of the original jpgs?  I want to be able to play around with the view schemes/filtering and see thumbnails with some other family members while travelling, but don't have the network access or disk space to take all the original images.  Will that work?

Are the thumbnails stored separate somewhere?

The thumbs are stored in Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\J River\Media Center 11\Thumbnails.

'Application Data is a hidden folder, so you'll have to 'visible-ize' hidden files and folders.

I couldn't say if it'll work, so let us know how you get on...  ;)
