Title: Library-Backup does not work always properly

I made some Library-Backups with v11. After looking in the directory i see that the Backup-File size is only 25 kb. The first backup created while loading the v10 database for the first time was correct (350 kB), the second and third backup done via "File - Library - Backup Library" are false (ca. 25 kB). Any hints?

I believe the MC11 backups are more compressed and as MC11 handles the db differently, I don't think there is any correlation between the size of the MC 10 & 11 backup files.

The important thing is that when you restore, you get what you backed up.

Sorry - i disagree. Before backing up i have 5.000 files in the library with 23 GB data. After restoring the library shows in the status line at the bottom of MC window: 5.000 files with 0 bytes! I have then 5.000 empty data sets. My database would be lost!!!

Well, then I'm stumped!

And I must correct myself :-[, upon taking a closer look and comparing an MC10 and an identical MC11 back up the MC11 file is definitely larger! MC10: 2,593 KB vs MC11: 4,090 KB.

I have almost 40k files in the db and backing up and restoring has not been a problem.

I´ve found the failure.
My Library was stored in "..\MediaCenter\ Library\"
                                                                  |
                                                                  | The space before Library caused the failure.

After changing the Path to "..\MediaCenter\Library\" all works fine.

Interesting

I would consiter this a MC bug.

in windows explorer it will not allow a leading or trailing spaces, where MC allows it
