Post by: CarlCS on August 18, 2005, 06:30:22 pm
I seem to be able to connect my ZenNX to MC, but once I drop files to the device MC AV's. I upgraded the firmware on the Zen to no avail.

Misc details

OS: XPSP2 fully patched
Media: WMV, lossless
Conversion: 192 CBR

Can you clarify this and give more detail on the behavior?

Thanks,

Steve

Plug in Zen NX with USB 2 Cable

Start media center 11.0

Media center recognizes device

Zen NX displays 'connected' graphic

Set transfer options to downsample music to 192 constant bit rate

Select album to copy

drag album containing WM Lossless media to device.

Click 'begin transfer'

Media center has access violation and exits before any music is transfered

Thanks for the clarification.

Can you transfering using tracks that are not being transcoded during the transfer to help isolate the problem?

Thanks,

Steve

All tracks on my computer ripped at lossless, but I did change the transfer options to never transcode. The crash still occured at the same point.

I should also point out that my wife has a Dell DJ and is able to transfer and transcode without problem from the same computer.

Strange.

The Dell DJ and Zen NX are set to use the same code so it is odd that one would succeed and the other not. Can you get or create an mp3 file and try it?  Or email me a file that fails and I will test it here.
