Title: Disc # and iPod database fields
Post by: JSmithson on August 28, 2005, 04:08:05 pm
Steve,
Does the iPod get the disk# from the file or from its database? I started to use the disc# in MC and then realized the iPod doesn't understand it. Then I found the long thread about disc# and IDv2.xx tags etc.... I don't want to get involved in the debate over standard tags, but if the disc# is part of the database that you create during a xfer and sync then would it be easy to add at that time?
By the way, what fields are in the iPod database? Any other fields that may be useful?
       Thanks

Tag&Rename supports the Disc Number field for AAC files.  iTunes fully understands these tags, so I don't see any reason why MC can't read them.

Disc number is not currently sent to the iPod from MC. This can and should be changed in the future.
