Title: Custom View question
Post by: dcpete on September 21, 2005, 12:00:56 pm
....Custom View....

In Media Center 10 under the Audio/Add View Scheme "Pick Files to Show" field, there was an "Add Rule" selection.  This option isn't present on MC 11 and it's not obvious to me what to do at this point.

Any suggestions?

Thanks, Chris

I've edited your message to remove the part about Larry's notes and the iPod.

Can you be a little more specific about what you're trying to do?

There is a down arrow on the left side of the dialog. Did you click it?

Yes, but it doesn't have an "Add Rule" selection like MC 10 had.  But re-reading the intent of Larry's iPod instructions, this step was for filtering audio only files.  I believe MC 11 when you get to this point, you are only dealing with audio only files.  I've moved on.  I guess my only observation is that the drop-down list has changed rather significantly from MC 10 to MC 11.  I'm sure it was for a good reason.

Larry's iPod song management document is linked to in the MC 11 help.  The only problem is that it doesn't really map well to MC 11.  He must have been using MC 10 or prior.  The document needs updating, or a disclaimer might be nice.  The information in that document is useful, but you can't follow the instructions step-for-step anymore with MC 11.

Thanks, Chris

Yes, you are right. There are some significant changes.

Here's the Larry's iPod Notes thread: http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=22729.0

Larry has promised an update, but he didn't say when.
