Title: Bug/Incomplete...
Post by: Mr ChriZ on September 23, 2005, 12:19:30 pm
When Media Center closes
the skin Effects are not Saved.
This is annoying cuz I like Aruba, with the negative effect.
Any chance of this being changed  8)
Cheers

1.  Aruba / Negative is a superb skin and the heir to "Thunderstorm", IMO.

2.  I've never had the issue you described.  I've been going Aruba / Negative since ver.265.

On my PC the negative effect is still selected after a restart. (MC 11.0.314).

I too prefer dark skins, especially with LCD screens. After trying other skins I seem to always switch back to the original Thunderstorm.

OK apologies.... today it seems to be working fine....
I've got a feeling what must have happened, is the Media Center process must have
got terminated somehow and the negative bit didn't get saved,
but the Aruba bit did...
I didn't double check because I used to try this and it didn't work. I guess it
must have got fixed in a later version.
Any ho it's saved now.
Cheers

I like PixOS as negative...talk about dark, but perfect for me on the 32" LCD. I can't stand how bright white feels on my brain; system colors are old school black with green text.

Actually, I think there is something wrong with the skin effects process.

1.  When I did a complete reinstall of MC, I found the same thing that CrhiZ was seeing, MC forgot its negative, at least the first time I restarted.  This may be that the skin info is saved to the library, which seems farfetched, but otherwise MC doesn't have an excuse.  It forgot its skin.

2.  When I used plugin manager to download, all the dialog boxes when without the negative effect.  Package installer, version info, etc, all were standard Aruba without negative.

Could ChriZ or someone with Aruba / Negative try downloading through plugin manager?
