Title: MC11.1 and iPod nano
Post by: Qythyx on September 28, 2005, 08:39:40 am
Unfortunately, mostly bad news.

1. Can't sync iPod Nano at all. Here are the scenarios I've tried:

A. Try to sync from an existing playlist
As soon as I click on the Transfer button I get an error window that says: Error finding manager. When I click OK on this dialog MC crashes. Too bad I don't know who/what/which manager it is talking about. I did a full uninstall/reboot/reinstall of MC, but that didn't help.

B. Try to sync by dragging files to the Drop Files Here area
This works up to the point when the transfer should begin. Then an error dialog comes up saying the files type (WMA) aren't supported. This is despite having it set to convert to MP3.

C. Try to drag files to the iPod listing under Drives & Devices
When I do this MC crashes immediately.

2. I can't play Audible files. When I try to they just get skipped over with not error.

3. The Display window in the bottom left doesn't seem to scale large cover art. My cover art files (all embedded) are about 1000x1000 pixels. The Display window is only showning a bit of the full image. Note that the Playing Now coverart at the top does scale and show it correctly.

BTW, when Windows asks if I was to report the crash error, should I? Do you get those error reports and do they help?

The install may not have completed.

Try an uninstall, removing registry entries, reboot and re-install.

Please wait to do further testing on 11.1.

Thanks.
