Post by: equirion on October 19, 2005, 08:14:48 pm
Sorry for my poor english... I usually speak french. My problem is that I can't record TV channel with my new hauppauge 150. Always get the message "BuilCaptureGraph Failed. cannot render video capture stream". What can I do ?

Not sure.

Last time I checked, this card worked fine.

Are you using the video decoder that comes with Hauppauge device? Recently a customer reported having recording problem which turns out to be caused by third-party video decoder.

How can I verify wich video decoder i use ? There is another thing that may be related to. When I go in TvOption, and I click on Recording Tab, The Recording/TimeShifting Profile is grayed (I can't press on any button of this section....) Maybe it can help solving my problem.

Also, when I use WinTV2000 (software by hauppauge) all works fine...

Hope I will have this running fine in MC.
Thanks.

If you installed the software that came with the device and did not purposefully uninstall the decoder, then I would say you are using the right decoder.

Recording/time-shifting profiles do not apply to this device. They are for devices that use AVI format for recording. Your device has MPEG2 format. That is why the profile controls are disabled.

Ah. Ok. I forgot to tell you. My WinTV pvr 150 is a MCE edition. I tried it with both drivers (MCE and nom-MCE edition) and I always get the same error message.

Would you be willing to do some tests with me?

I can email you a debug version of the TV program, so you can get some information logged in a file.

If you would like to do it, email me. My email address is

Hey,

I've got the same problem with the PVR150 as described above.

Nothing happens when I press Start Recording... in MC.
When Media Scheduler starts a sceduled recording, I get

Error: BuildCaptureGraph failed. Cannot render video capture stream. . Code: 0x8000ffff

MC build 11.1.183
All drivers current from Hauppague's website.

Thanks for a great program! MC rocks!

Can you email me a log file? Go to Help menu and choose "Configure Debug Logging ...". Check "Output to a log file" under Logging Options, and check "TV" only under Types of events to log. Run the program and find the log file at "C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Application Data\J River\Media Center 11\Log.txt"

P.S. Can you do instant recording (instead of recording from Media Scheduler) - while TV is playing press CTRL+SHIFT+R?
