Title: 5.1 Speakers, But I Want Only Stereo Sound!

I've got an Audigy soundcard configured into 5.1 mode; when Media Center plays MP3s, they come only out of the front left and front right channels, like I expect.. however, when playing MP4s, they could out of the front and rear speakers. I was under the impression that Media Center used the same "playback engine" for all formats, just used different input filters?

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

You can select the desired mode in output options. However, this doesn't work with MP4 files because MC uses the OS level external QuickTime codec for decoding them.
