Title: iPod crashes MC 11.0.316

MC crashes when I plug my iPod in, or when it's already in and I start MC. iTunes is installed and comes up automatically when I plug the iPod in but, I shut iTunes down, shut down the iPod service (or not) but nothing  I try seems to make a difference. Am I missing a step?

The message is:

Initializing Portable.....

Then a Windows dialog comes up saying: Media Center has encountered a problem and needs to close. Etc.

The error signature is: AppName: media center.exe    AppVer: 11.0.316.0    ModName: hh_portable.dll
ModVer: 1.0.0.0    Offset: 0008ac00

Running a pretty clean and only a week old install of WinXP sp2. Office 2003, Symantec corporate antivirus 10, and counterspy. All of which have been turned off during my troubleshooting.

Let me know if more info is needed.

you could try 11.1.43 Alpha

some ipod improvements have been made

I don't have an Ipod, but i don't think Itunes should be comming up

Try opening the iPod in Windows Explorer and find the file called itunesdb.  Rename it.  Then try again.
