Title: 11.0.316: Any way to sync to external drive?
Post by: Markeau on October 27, 2005, 07:15:37 pm
I want to sync selected playlists to an external portable hard drive; but, I am not seeing how to do this.  I'd like to sync exactly like I do to a Zen Xtra; but, keep a folder structure like on my main hdd.  Is this possible?

The Handheld function can be configured to use a file folder. It has an option for copying the original folder structure.

In general the Handheld / local folder function could be the answer to the question of how to keep two versions of a media library automatically synchronized. It should do a bit better work when it checks for file changes and have all encoder options available for audio files. E.g. I would like to use a faster MP3 encoder sometimes, but the external encoder is not available with HH.

But when I select Handheld in the Action Window it says no handheld is found ... The external usb2 drives are connected.

With MC 11.1, right click the root of "Drives & Devices" and choose "Add Device".

With MC 11.0.136: Tools > Options > Handheld > Configure remote or fixed drives for detection
