Hello Folks:
Downloaded the shareware from the Tucows site today.
I'm sure it a nice product and you're proud of your creation, but as it turns out, I have a CD burner hardware failure and won't be replacing it until I buy a new machine several months from now. So, won't be buying the program right now and I don't want it on the computer.
Have used the Search feature of the forum and did not come up with anything, also the FAQ's don't seem to address my problem that I can see.
Using Win 98SE .. Tried to uninstall via Control Panel and when I click on "remove" zero happens. Have tried this several times.
Going into Program files for Media Center 11, I see an Uninstall.exe .. clicking on it does nothing at all.
Speaking in advance, I appreciate the help in removing the program from my computer.
Thanks,
Lee Smith

Try reinstalling, then un-installing.

Jim:
Thanks for the advice. Just tried that and had the same reaction as in the first post. In Control panel when I highlight Media Center 11 and then click remove, the remove button just goes blank as if no program had been selected.
Using Explorer, going into Program files and clicking on Uninstall.exe still has no effect ... as if I hadn't double clicked at all.
What's the next step we can try?
Lee

We haven't heard this before. There must be something "strange" with your system.
To manually remove Media Center, erase these files and registry keys:
C:\Program Files\JRiver\Media Center 11
HKCU\Software\JRiver\Media Center 11
HKLM\Software\JRiver\Media Center 11
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Media Center 11

Matt:
Well, I'm sort of glad in a weird way to be able offer you something new!
I deleted the folder in Program Files and cleaned up the registry with "Registry Mechanic" and all seems well now.
When I do the computer upgrade in a few months, I'll be giving Media Center another look, as it appears to have some neat features.
All the best with your product.
Regards,
Lee

Well, he's not alone....
Went to uninstall to see if I could correct a TV tuner problem....no go, just like Lee...

We'll take a look. Perhaps the self-deleting uninstaller has an issue on Win98.
-
Thanks Matt, I'll just un-install manually for now.

I'm having this same problem in Windows ME. I've already had the "strange system" response to my issue of not being able to add or remove any columns from my display. I guess my system is strange indeed.
-
I believe the Win9x uninstaller issue was found and fixed in MC 11.1. If you like, try it at the top of this board and let us know.
Thanks.

Well, I was able to uninstall and then reinstall the program. Unfortunately, that didn't solve my problem. I'm still unable to customize the current view. Now it fails differently. Before when I would add a column and hit save the added column would immediately disappear from the list (or the deleted column would reappear). Now the new column stays on the list, but doesn't actually appear in the window upon exit of the editor.
-
What happens if you don't hit save, but instead just "OK" or "Apply"?

Nothing...at least not right away. I just noticed that my changes take effect after I restart the program. Not ideal, but at least it's working again. Thanks.
