Title: ipod and 11.1.46 "check synchronisation"
Post by: betonmoewe on October 30, 2005, 01:33:42 pm
Hi,

in 11.1.xx there is the new option "check synchronisation". The first "run" is ok, but if the result of the check is, that there are more files selected (i work with data/smartlist for the sync) than there is room on the ipod, there is no way to deselect some files and then run the check again  :( The result of the check is still the first one. I have to eject and reconnect my ipod to have the possibility to sync the adjusted datalists.

And please ... bring the old display back where I can see the current number of files who are still in the queue and the current transfer rate (or let the list scroll automaticly to the current transfered file and give at the end a report)

Second the request to see transfer rate/file nos during a synch.

I'd also like to see the same info if the "synch" button at the top of the MC window (rather than the AW button) is used.

TIA. John.

Third!  I would love to see the time/files view.

Smartlists aren't re-run since random types could give totally different sizes each run.  To rerun the smartlists, simply close the Action Window to clear the queue.  Then pick "Check Synchronization" again.

About showing transfer speed, it's more complicated now that the pipeline is doing multiple conversions at the same time as the upload.  We're not sure what this number would really be.  The speed of the last transfer, the total speed of all work, etc.?

Hi Matt,

ok then something other went wrong

I had closed the action window and opened it again (at least 3 times), to  rerun the "check" (but maybe it would be better just to put this as a button there for recheck without closing and opening again?) every time I got the same amount of mb over the limit. The only way to get a new result wich fits on my ipod, was to disconnect my ipod and reconnect it again (MC was still running).

Now I have tried your advice again, this time it works with a new strange behaviour: if I press the sync button after close / reopen of the action window a new windows opens with the message that there are still 0 files to analys. this last at least 3 or 4 minutes. After this time, the sync starts ...
