Since I've been using another Windows DVR Application for my DirecTV video on my computer -- at least until I convert the files to XviD that is -- I've become accustomed to the ability to "skip ahead" by some preset amount (30 seconds works well) and "skip back" (10 seconds) by a different amount when I hit the FF/RW keys. Its a great solution for MPEG-2/4 video that just doesn't FF/RW all that smoothly with current computers and filters. I don't own one, but I believe that ReplayTV's and possibly even Tivo's do this as well.
It appears that MC does "skip" forward and back by some amount of time (I haven't figured it out exactly, but it seems like 1-5 seconds for both) when you tap the FF/RW keys (Ctrl-Left and Ctrl-Right).
Is this amount of "skip" for configurable? Even if it's in some weird registry key, it would be quite useful. I'm not particularly concerned that it might mess up the FF/RW functionality of the Audio playback (as I think it would work fine there too on the rare occasion I need to use it).
For the future, it would be splendid if MC were able to configure sepearate "skip times" for FF and RW (similar to the way I initally suggested)! It would definately help me use MC easier from the couch with my Remote.

Anyone?

Currently fast-forward jumps 5 seconds for audio.
For TV, DVD, and video it cycles the fast forward speed.

For the Video's I've used it for (mostly XviD AVI's) it does the 5 second jump not the cycle FF/RW speed. I can also crash MC reliably by holding down the RW/FF buttons for a little while in the main MC interface (or holding down Ctrl-Left or Ctrl-Right for any period of time) while watching one of these videos.
Mainly, it works fine (as I want it to jump ahead like it does), but I want it to jump by 30 seconds instead of 5. Any way to do this?

This question iwas posted in the TV section and it appears this might happen eventually (I hope soon).

I also asked about support for commercial skipping, but haven't had any response to this. Maybe I'm the only one that does/wants this, but I tell you once configured it's great!

I guess if more people ask, maybe it will happen sooner!
