If it really does mean show/hide rather than start stop
would it not make more sense to have a list of available
plugins and a list of plugins in use side by side.

The plugins would then be responsible themselves for whether
they are active or not?

I always presumed stop meant stop...
Just a thought anyway...

On reflection it probably wouldn't fit in the box....
