Title: MC10 Question Re: Backup/Restoring Library
Post by: ballen on November 04, 2005, 04:40:35 pm
I've recently had to rebuild my HDD with XPsp2, reinstall MC10 and restore a backup of my library.  Before rebuilding my HDD, I made a backup of my library thru the File/Libary/Backup Library feature of MC.  In addition, I also backed-up the entire JRiver file directory off my HDD.

This is my first time restoring a library.  My songs were successfully restored but I discovered that my skins, playlists and previously downloaded "track info" templates weren't included as part of the backup.

My question is, how in the future can I restore previously downloaded skins, playlists and track info templates to avoid the ardous task of redownloading them?  Is there the possibility that I can just transfer/overwrite the existing JRiver file directories with my backup copy of these (3) items or will I run into registry problems doing it this way?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated,

ballen   ;)

You would have to back up the following folders inside MC's Folder

MegaSkins
MiniSkins
Visualizations.

When you reinstall MC, you can overwrite these.

Many thanks for the suggestions.  Haven't tried them yet but plan on it this weekend.   ;)
