I have a Nevo SL remote control that is a UPnP device. It is not seeing the Library Server and therefore I cant use it with MC. Looks like I might need a UUID?
Anyone doing similar or have ideas?
Thanks.

Did you try it with the UPnP Server? Search here for more info. A link to UPnP is in the FAQ near the top of this board.
Nevo did work with MC's UPnP a few months ago when I tried it. It wasn't perfect.

The device does connect to my network, and the UPnP server is spitting lots of messages into the log, but nothing comes up on the screen of the Nevo SL.

JimH,
Any idea what the log means? Any ideas to get it to UPnP with the Nevo?
Thank you,
Scott

No idea. Try gateley in the UPnP thread here. He won't reply until tomorrow.

Uncheck the option to display warnings on unrecognized notify, then post your log here again.
I'd try two orders: start MC and the UPnP server, then power on the Nevo. Then try the opposite - power on the Nevo and wait until it reports 'can't find servers', then start MC and the UPnP server.
You'll also have to try different options to see if it works...

No Joy.
Here is the log.

Getting close I guess.
Any ideas or further suggestions? Thanks.

What options are you using? Have you tried different ones?

Tried the starting the nevo first or the server first. Tried flat network. Tried turning of anti-virus. I'm not converting file types. I just dont know what else to do.
The log would suggest that there is some communication between the JRMS and Nevo right? No need to play with port settings, no?
I don't know much about UPnP in general, but so far it seems the standard needs a lot of work.
Thanks

On the settings screen, there are several options you can choose. You can either choose a model type, or advanced. If you choose advanced, there are several choices that become available. Have you tried those?
j

Yes.
Why doesn't the MC server show up in Network Connections as a UPnP server? My other media server does show up and it works fine. Does that make sense?

I'd like to know if this has been resolved. I'm interested in the Nevo SL, and would really like this functionality. TIA
-
I haven't heard of any reports of the Nevo working with our UPnP server.
As always, if you have one, give it a try and send me a network sniff (ethereal preferred) and I'll take a look to see if I can get it working.

Any success? That would be perfect one remote for everything.
