I have my options set to save images in files. On my machine it appears to do so. Tag info shows images "Inside File". But, when I copy the files over to my wife's machine, the images do not show up. Thumbnails for the files on my wife's PC are blank and tag info shows blank for images. All the files are .Ape format. Why would the same files show the art on my machine but lose it when copied across the network to my wife's hard drive?

Can you Save Images In Ape Tags?
-
In MC, goto the properties of the ape file on your computer, Does it say Inside File for the image?
I have hundreds of ape albums with art stored in the file.... Maybe the images are in a folder.

if that is the case and APE does save images in the tags he could select all files, and update tags from database this should force it to save the images into the files.
I have searched for an answer and the threads i viewed have not been answerd by matt or J river.
i went to matts web site but could not find any info on ape storing images in tags

Yes, Ape can store images, but I just figured out my problem.
First of all, I misspoke about the files on my machine. I was comparing the mp3s on my laptop that I burned from the Ape files on my external HD. The Ape files are what gets copied to my wife's PC. I just checked the APE files on my external that have no tags on my wife's PC and they do not have the images either. So, I was comparing apples to oranges. Sorry.
All my files that started out as Ape files have their images. But, some of them came from files that originally were Flac format. I tagged the files while still Flac (incorrectly thinking Flac stored image tags) and then converted to Ape. I was expecting the images to travel to the APE files during the convert but of course, I now know they were not there to begin with.
So, APE can store images, Flac can not. Mystery solved.
