something's not quite right with thumbnails somewhere....
http://www.theganghut.co.uk/pics/ia/thumbs.jpg
I have album art in the AW, thumbnail in the tooltip, but no album art in the browser. All of those "missing image" holders should be displaying artwork, and there's a whole lot more of them further down.
-
Could you give any other details about how to reproduce this?
Does filetype, internal vs external art, view scheme, etc. make any difference?
Is it consistent, or hit and miss?
Thanks,
-Matt

It's the default audio view. I click on "audio" in the tree, and then on the "albums" button.
It's the same for me whenever I load it, and is repeated in other viewschemes.
It's always the same albums.
does not appear to be filetype specific. mpc's, CBR and VBR mp3's in there.
all album art is in the default %appdata% folder, no internal, no folder.jpg's
Before I leave for work tonight, I'll leave MC rebuilding the thumbnails again and see if that helps in the morning.
I wondered if it was connected to the thumbnail text issue, so removed the [disc #] entry, but it made no difference.
could you have a quick look at my "tree structure" thread?
what's on my mind is the possibility of old "media library" filters possibly causing problems?
Is that likely do you think?
-
No, I don't think it's filters.
Try showing the "Image File" and "Thumbnail Info" columns for the albums that don't have thumbs.
Anything strange about them compared to albums that work?
-
Not that I can see. The paths to the coverart are correct and the files exist. I wouldn't know if there was anything strange with thumbnail infos as that's completely new to me.
I can tell you that those fields are all populated with numbers, ranging from 2 figure numbers up to 9 figure numbers.
I thought I'd got it when I noticed that all these missing ones had one or more of:
a number 0-9

but this theory got blown out by the fact that claptons "461 Ocean Boulevard (Deluxe Ed)" and the (multiple artists) album jazz4chillin' display correctly.
I did a "rebuild missing thumbs" but that did not help.
If I delete the thumbnail folder and run it again, would that work, or break things more?
ps.
I have to leave for work in just a few minutes....

It's worth a try. You'll have to do it by hand.
-
another thing I've noticed is that the image in the tooltip is hit and miss. sometimes showing, sometimes not.
k, gotta dash now, I'll leave it rebuilding over night and let you know in the morning.
-
thumbnails are back and displaying correctly now.
Still none the wiser as to what happened there. will keep an eye on things over the next couple of days.
can confirm that the CIRCULAR bug in thumbnail text has been squashed and expressions in thumbnail text are working a treat, thank you very much.

Did you manually delete MC's thumbnail folder? Is that how you got thumbs back?
-
I used the erase all thumbnails on exit option, closed mc, deleted the thumbnails folder, opened mc, changed the exit option back to delete orphans and rebuilt missing thumbs.
then they came back.
-
I reckon it was manually deleting the thumbs directory that fixed it. I've got MC to rebuild thumbs countless times - but my probs didn't disappear until I did a full uninstall - reinstall and deleted the thumbs directory - and only then rebuilt thumbs.
