I think it would work well with new library view.  I know I would be able to better pick out individual songs by visually correlating them to what is in the top tile view.

Only if optional. I need to see one color for imported files and another color for unimported files and I need to differentiate real image files from audio files or video files. I don't need small blurry icons in my list views. They have enough stuff already: fieldsbig.png (http://kotisivu.mtv3.fi/alexb/pix/fieldsbig.png)

Actually, it could be a separate moveable column. Then it would be included if selected in Customize Current View. Also, the current icon could be a similar view item. It is not always needed. Sometimes it just consumes valuable space.

A moveable image icon column could be placed besides the Image File field when needed. It would help when checking the cover art links.
