Title: awful noise at start of cd's burnt in MC
Post by: spinner on December 16, 2005, 07:15:27 am
I have been burning audio files to CD and get an awful loud burst of 'interference' in the first 3 seconds or so of the resulting cd. The rest of the disc is normal and ok. I've burnt mp3's and wav files and it happens all the time. I've tried changing various settings in MC such as with or without cd text and copying to hard drive first but it still happens. I've activated and deactivated DSP settings as well to no avail. Does anybody know what's wrong. I've had it working correctly in the past but recently reformatted and reinstalled and since then i don't know what it is that's wrong. Many thanks if you can help. (I've got about 10 dud CD's hanging from my xmas tree!)

Do you know what version and build of MC this problem started with?

Hi John,
I've got 11.0.231. When i start it the splash screen says version 11 Beta. I'm on windows Xp home.
I've resorted to using windows media player with no problems, the noise isn't there. WMP won't read some of my mp3's though for some reason that media center will. Then i've just gone to nero and burnt an audio cd but the problem then is because they're compilations from downloads the volume fluctuates. Still trying.

I'd recommend installing the latest 11.1.83.  There have been a few CD burning bug fixes since your version that may have fixed the problem.  Plus, I can't debug 11.0.231 at this point.

Thanks John,
It's often the easiest fix isn't it. I'll get the latest.
