Hello again
My Netgear MP101 (running latest Netgear software) stops playing during a smartlist
I am running MC 11.1.083, although the same happens with MC 11.0.316
The smartlist I am using has 283 files, and it plays for about 1 hour before stopping with the following message in the UPnP server

The mp101 shows an egg timer for a while then the screen shows tracks to play, with the one it has just played highlighted.
I will copy the smartlist to a playlist to see if this makes any difference and report

I copied my smartlist to a playlist and the Netgear mp101 played for around 90 minutes before stopping with the following

Are you connected via wireless?

Yes both my mp101's are wireless with fixed ip addresses and the main pc is wireless too, so are the other 2 pc's that use the main pc as a "server", and they play all day with no problems.
Netgear DG834GT is the adsl modem router

Do you have another server you could try? (Did the NetGear come with one? I don't remember).
I'm trying to find out if it is a MC problem or a NetGear problem.

Now I know why I don't use the Netgear server !!
The Netgear media server version I reinstalled was v3.3.36 (non US version).
Made a playlist of 138 mp3 tracks and it played fine.

Now I am getting confused.... a smartlist with 118 entries plays fine but one with 283 doesn't, (and they all say size doesn't matter!!!)
Will do some investigation with sizes etc over chrimbo

I haven't had time to look at this, probably won't until after new years, but if you could. Try a smart list several times (maybe rebooting the netgear in between), see if it fails at the same place each time, or fails in different places...

Sorted, it was my firewall (Hacker blocker from pc security shield or firestone.com) you cannot tweak the ports on this software, so I uninstalled and used the windows xp firewall making rules for all the ports listed in the netgear manual and it works a treat now.
All I have to do now is sort out my new dlink dsm 320, in the "other hardware" forum
