Hopefully there is an easy answer to this ;D
I have my H340 syncing beautifully except that the playlists all have the drive letter pre-pended and the H340 wont recognise them. If I manually edit the playlists and remove the drive letter they work perfectly.
Is there some setting so MediaCentre 11.1.83 won't add the drive letter to a playlist when syncing?
Thanks
Russell

Maybe you should check 'Files and Paths' in the advanced options in the Handheld section?
-
Thanks Dutch Peter,
Russell, what do you have the option for 'Playlists Path:' set to in 'File Paths' under Handheld options?
-
Sorry for the late reply guys, been on holidays :-[
Playlist paths has "Playlists\".
I dont understand why this has anything to do with prepending the drive letter each of the files in each playlist.
For example i get a playlist like this:
J:\Music\Artist\Album\01-xxxxx.ogg
J:\Music\Artist\Album\02-yyyyy.ogg
but the iRiver H3xx series doesn't like the drive letter "J:". IMHO quite rightly as when the unit is wandering around, it isn't drive "J:", that is specific to my machine.
So what it wants is the playlist to be like this:
\Music\Artist\Album\01-xxxxx.ogg
\Music\Artist\Album\02-yyyyy.ogg
Thanks
Russell

Any news on this problem?

The latest builds of MC 11.1 will always use relative paths when possible when putting a playlist on a device.
-
Just tried 11.1.121 and yes it uses relative paths.
However the H340 doesn't like relative paths :(
Matt, you said MC will always use relative paths when possible, what is the algorithm for that?
I have tried making the music path absolute i.e. \MUSIC\xxxx
To my mind that should trigger the use of an absolute path in the playlist.

Tonight's build will add a setting to pick different playlist formats for drive-style devices.
It should make playlists for your device (and any similar device) work properly.

Matt,
Thank you, I just tried .136 and it worked perfectly! :)
I am a very happy boy now!
