I've been playing around with playing Video from a Library Server.
At the moment it seems very very slow, as if the whole file is being
copied across rather than being streamed?
It takes about 2 minutes before it's starts playing.
The files are around about 300kbps according to Win Explorer.
Networks 100mb so should not be causing problems.
Server Machine is an Athlon 1700.
Tried two clients, one being a Athlon 3200,
no difference.
Any ideas, is there a streaming option to toggle somewhere, or do I need
a meatier server machine?
Cheers

Previously MC could stream only MPEG1 videos through the old Media Server. If the file format was e.g. DivX AVI or MPEG2 it buffered the complete file before starting playback:

I have not tried this recently. I use shared network folders for videos instead.

That would of course not make any sense. I am also planning to stream MP4 video (most encoded in AVC at around 1400 kbps).
Would be great to be able to do this via Media Server soon.

Cheers for the info Alex.
I'd definitley like to see this in the near future. I'm starting
to get more into Video collecting.
