Title: language code - strange letters
Post by: dvdr on December 19, 2005, 05:27:08 pm
Hi,
I am using MC11 in Germany and am in the process of ripping all my CDs - I rip them with EAC and Flac them.
The tags look ok with all our "umlauts", even swedisch and norwegish special letters look right. But importing these files into MC11 turns them into strange combinations of letters - an é turns out to be someting like e@ or so, and even stranger things turn out....
Is there any way to make MC11 understand these letters and display them properly?

Thanks!

This sounds like a UTF-8 decoding issue in the FLAC input plugin.  This was written by a third party, so you may want to email the author.

As an aside, MC has arguably the best secure ripping engine, so I'd recommend giving it a shot. (with FLAC, APE, or WMA Lossless)

Yeah, there's a bug with the extended characters in the FLAC plugin.  I haven't had time to track it down yet, but hope to get that fixed over the holidays.  For most people, it doesn't appear to be a problem, so for those of you out there who have this, I will try to get it fixed soon  :D
