Title: MEdia Center Feature Request!
Post by: Topazworm on December 20, 2005, 08:25:55 am
I dont know if its possible but adding this feature would improve my MC experience 10 fold. :P
If is possible to have a little tickboxc (like itunes) to select which songs to upload to ipod on next sync? ;D
Would really help. At the moment i cant add all songs to ipod as i have over the 20gig limit. So i have to create a playlist with just the songs i want. Not a severe handicap but i would prefer the tickbox.
Also the tickbox (like itunes) could also be used to disable playing of the song. Untick it and MC wont play it until you double click it, like itunes?
What yall think?

I have never used itunes so i can't comment in regards to that but I fully agree with tickboxes, if integrated correctly into a program they can vastly improve the ability to pick and unpick items very fast.

Exactly how they would be implemented into MC11 I am not sure but the concept in my opinion is a good one.

Use smartlists!!!!!

WAY FASTER than trying to tick 2000 boxes.

Here's an example for my girlfriends shuffle...

[Media Type]=[Audio] [Genre]=[Espanol] [Rating]=>2 ~s=775

the ~s=775 is limiting the size to 775 megabytes.  Play around with it a bit, you'll find it incredibly useful for getting music to put on the iPod.

If you're not sure about how to change it to suit your needs, just ask.

You can also also make a basic playlist and simply add the specific songs you want.  Then simply tell mc to snyc that playlist.  Don't want songs, remove them from that palylist.

I understand there are "ways" of doing it. But i dont want to do it that way. If i didnt have an ipod then it wouldnt be a problem. But all im saying is, how hard would it be to impliment this feature?

Currently in version 11 there are light blue music notes to the left of the file in media library. Couldnt we have it so we could click on the note and it would turn grey meaning it wouldnt be played/uploaded?

Are you aware that by pressing and holding control you can multi select items?
Not saying that the tick box wouldn't be better, but multi selectings pretty good!
