I am having problems when trying to rip from two drives.
At first my system would lock up forcing me to use the reset button to get my system back. During this time one of my drives was constantly being accessed.
I was encoding while ripping. I changed it to allow 2 rips 2 encodes and a total of 2 processes.
In trying again an old problem I had reapeared where one of the encoding tasks would freeze.
As long as I don't have another encoding session freeze up the rips complete and I can go back and reproccess the one that froze.
If I have 2 sessions freeze up then MC freezes up and eventually I have to use the reset button to get my system back.
I dual boot this ssytem and have the same problems on both sessions. My second session is a basic install where I am converting LP's so not allot of extra stuff is being loaded.
Ripping from 1 drive at a time works fine.

A hard-lock on a machine is normally a hardware problem, not software.
There may be an IDE controller, cabling, or jumper issue.

I have ripped from these two drives on this system in the past without any problems. I realize that doesn't mean that I don't have a hardware problem now just wanted to say that it has worked.
I have been playing around and as long as I don't have two encoding sessions running at the same time nothing locks up.
In playing some more if I wait long enough the system will respond but it comes and goes. If I try and do anything with MC the systems locks up again. If I bring up task manager and try and end MC I get the are you sure message but it will not end MC.
It is like MC has a lock on the drive that the encoding CD is in and refuses to let go. Windows then seems to start having issues.
