I'm a new user to MC and have a ton of existing MP3's. I would like to drag them from CD-R's, review the tags and have them copy to my new storage hard drive to follow the same folder/file structure that I have set up for ripping CDs.
There are so many options in this great program. Can't seem to find the correct steps ;) Thanks!

Can't you just drag them to playing now?

If they're data cds (mp3cds), just copy them to your hard drive and then import them in MC. Once there, you can do any changes you want to from within MC.

If I drag them to a temporary folder, can I let MC create the folder/filename structure I want? Similar to the encoding folder/filename specs?

Try the options you have with a right click on files and using Library Tools/Rename files from properties (assuming they are tagged). Experiment with a few before you do many.

also, double check the file properties before importing...
if you use windows explorer to copy the files from the cd to the hard drive, you will need to remove the "read only" flag from the files, else MC won't be able to update any file tags.
