Title: MC suddently unregistered
Post by: deltazero on January 03, 2006, 01:35:05 am
I bought a second, removable harddisk for my laptop on which my media files are stored. Since the time I use this harddisk MC loses its registration from time time, i.e. I have to get a new registration file to get it working again in registered mode. I am not sure, but i think that it might be, that when MC starts when the second hardisk is not present (instead my cd-drive is present), it assumes, that the pc has changed.

Someone having similar problems? Anyone can help me please?

Best regards,

Rainer

not heard that before, and there are many out there using removables with MC.

most common cause of a de-registered MC is a change of computer name. you done one of those recently?

Yes - I have done that twice. So I guess that was the reason. Thank you for your help!

I have 5 Removeable Drives And Have Never Had This Happen.

However I have Used "Administrative Tools", "Computer Management" Utilities Under Control Pannel To Force The Drives To Stay In The Correct Order.
