Was thinking it might be interesting if there was an expression that could get the current time.
I was thinking of a smartlist that could randomly pick an album (that was not heard in over 6 months) and play it.
The idea being certain genres are preferred over others depending on the time of day.
-
Can't you do that already?
lastplayed=>262800 ~n=50
60Mins*24Hours*182.5 Days = 262800 Mins
Limited to 50 Tracks

yes, but you can't currently say,
if it's between 10am and 6pm, play me techno, but if it's between 6pm and 10pm play me classical.
always a work-around mind you, as there's nothing stopping us from creating morning, afternoon and evening playlist groups, or perhaps a "time of day" library field.
interesting idea.

oh I see...

Exactly...
..it's one less step...if u had a smartlist in theatre view or favorites.
-
..or take it a bit further, with day.
You could have a smartlist that knows which day of the week it is and also the time..so u could have certain genres for different days..
..monday ....jazz evening
..wed ....rare groove night
etc
and it should take just one click to pull this off in theater view....don't need to think what day or time it is..

....don't need to think what day or time it is..
depending on the day, time, and your marital status, that's a potentially disasterous habit to get into!!
-
Yep, i can see the arguments against including a feature like that for minors.
"MC is best, enjoyed in moderation"
Hmm, there's lots of things you can't do as often when you get older...
..always thought music would never make it into that list :)
