Just connected my Nomad Jukebox 3 to MC11.1.97 and it's really struggling. Everytime I go to the Options dialogue to play around with synch lists, it takes about 40 seconds of 100% cpu usage before I can use the computer again.
Also, when I finished choosing my lists and hit 'Synchronize', MC locked up; cpu usage is normal, but memory usage is climbing at about 10k a second (it's at 70MB now, after about 5 minutes).
[10 minutes later] OK, now it's transferring, but it's telling me it's going to take over 2 hours to complete the transfer (at about 1MB/s over firewire) which is more than twice as slow as the last time I synched the Nomad in 11.0, and MC is also using a steady 45% of my CPU during transfer.

Are you sure you don't have --- Sync All checked instead of the Sync Playlists?
Exact thing happened to my yesturday, That was the problem.

Are you sure you don't have --- Sync All checked instead of the Sync Playlists?
If you mean 'Sync Mode - All', it's definitely not checked.
MC is also not creating any playlists at the end of the sync, and when I click the 'expand' triangle beside the Nomad in the tree, the triangle disappears and I get no Artist, Genre etc.
Anyone else having similar problems?
P.S. I don't have any Creative software on my computer; just the drivers, so should MC be closing the CTPdeSrv.exe process? When I exit MC, the Nomad is still in connected mode and pulling the plug when it's like that has caused problems in the past.

Could you try using logging to see what MC is working on?
Email a log to matt @ jriver.com if it shows anything.
Thanks.

'Tis on it's way...

I spent the day testing MC11.1.100 with a variety of handhelds and I couldn't find any serious problems.
We'd like to release it. Any big problems left?
Thanks,
Jim
As JimH is asking if there are any problems left, I was wondering if there is any update on the issue I'm having...?
-
Thanks for the log. We're still scratching our heads because it looks like the core WMDM upload call is taking a very long time.
It may be worth updating the Nomad firmware, or trying a small test library from MC to see if it makes a difference.

<Bump>
I just have discovered this thread. Matt, all this sound very familiar to me (Slowdowns, 100% CPU usage, etc.)... (;
EpF, how many smartlists are you trying to sync (or did try to sync)? Is the problem solved for you with recent MC versions? You can read about the things i'm experiencing in the "Media Center" forum, in the "Addict: MC 11.1 iPod Issue" and "iPod problem" threads.
I'm aware that WDM devices are quite different to the iPod, but still...

Build 109 greatly improves performance with large libraries and large syncs.
