I seem to recall that you could "Customize Current View", and edit the thumbnail text to show more than one line of text, eg:
[Album]
[Album Artist]
then the thumbnail views would show both lines.
Doesn't seem to work now. Regardless of what's in the thumbnail text field, if I am showing album thumbnails, I only get the album name.
-
You should be able to adjust whats in the text by adding or deleting different [] commands. i.e. [Artist], [Name], [Album], etc.
-
Yep, I know, and it used to work.
Doesn't with build 11.1.99. The Thumbnail Text field contains [Name] and yet when view is set to Album Thumbnails, it shows the Album Name. Changing the Thumbnail Text field has no effect at all on the displayed view.
-
Thumbnail text can only be edited for standard thumbnail style lists. Album thumbnails are not editable.
-
That's what I'm trying to do.
Look at this: http://villamil.org/mc11thumb.jpg (which is panes, album thumbnails)
and this: http://villamil.org/mc11thumb2.jpg (which is panes, regular thumbnails)
It seemed to work fine as recently as build 11.1.92, IIRC.

Yep, that's exactly what I'm after. Doesn't seem to work.

I wonder....
looking at your screenshot, you have [album artist] as your second line... have you actually populated the [album artist] field for all your albums?
if not, what happens if you change that to [album artist (auto)] ?
-
ya, i think your two fields you have listed return the same thing, lol
here is what i am running, the year is probably overkill but i like it:
[Album Artist (auto)]- [Date (year)]
[Album]
TC :)

[album] and [album artist] are two very different things indeed, lol
(unless your library is full of self-titled albums, of course ;))

Yep, that did the trick!
